RDAbbott has signed a new distribution agreement with 3M to expand its distribution of 3M Advanced Materials to Canada. This new agreement will be facilitated and managed locally by RDAbbott’s Canadian division, RDAbbott Canada, Ltd., based out of Burlington, Ontario, in the Greater Toronto Area. The agreement became effective on July 1, 2021, and covers fluoroelastomers; perfluoroelastomers; and FKM curatives and process aids.

RDAbbott is hosting a free training webinar titled, “Chemlok® Application and Troubleshooting,” that will feature rubber-to-substrate adhesives from Parker LORD. In this live webinar, Parker LORD Senior Scientist Jeff Means and Application Engineer Cristina DiFranco, will focus on proper substrate preparation, adhesive application, and molding best practices. They will also facilitate an interactive workshop, using webinar polls, for troubleshooting bond failures.

Self-lubricating LSR is the material of choice for electrical sealing applications in automotive applications. With constant changes in the industry, the performance requirements of this material becomes increasingly challenging and related material formulations constantly more complex. This discussion will give an overview on factors impacting sealing properties, propose a new additive to noticeably shift the thermal stability of a whole material family, and provide insights on how this new additive can stabilize the set of mechanical properties at elevated temperatures.
