RDAbbott will reconnect with customers and colleagues at the International Elastomers Conference (IEC) hosted by the Rubber Division, ACS in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from October 4 to 6 in Booth 1933. Members of the RDAbbott team will highlight the company’s capabilities and those of its supplier partners.

RDAbbott will present “Essentials of LSR Materials and Processing” at Molding 2021, a conference that is widely recognized as the most important forum for technical information and business conditions in the injection molding industry. Rick Ziebell, Vice President of Technology and Technical Fellow will deliver RDAbbott’s presentation about liquid silicone rubber (LSR) on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (ET) as part of the LSR Molding – Auxiliary Equipment Breakout track.

RDAbbott is an organizer, sponsor, and exhibitor for LSR 2021, the premiere conference about liquid silicone rubber (LSR). This year’s event is scheduled for September 13–16, 2021, in Schaumburg, Illinois, and will include technical presentations by RDAbbott and three of its supplier partners: Dow, Parker LORD, and DuPont. Together with Dow, RDAbbott will exhibit and co-sponsor the lanyards and event.

Cancarb’s new rating indicates that the company is in the top 1% of its industry for the sustainable production of carbon black, which is added to thermoplastics and can contribute color, opacity, electrical resistivity, and protection from ultra-violet degradation.

RDAbbott will advance elastomers that are revolutionizing automotive lighting and hydrogen fuel system technologies at the 2021 virtual Rubber in Automotive Conference. RDAbbott will help power a Rubber & Plastics News (RPN) livestream called “Silicone 2021: An Unsettled Market with Unlimited Applications” on May 20 at 2:00 PM (ET). RDAbbott’s John Carroll, a 50-year industry veteran known as the “Godfather of Silicone,” will participate in the one-hour panel discussion and question-and-answer session. At a time when silicone prices are rising and silicone applications keep increasing, Carroll and other members of the expert panel will offer valuable insights about market trends, the virtues of silicones, as well as future business opportunities.

RDAbbott will reconnect with customers and colleagues at the Spring Technical Meeting for Rubber Division, ACS on Tuesday, April 27, and Wednesday, April 28. RDAbbott will attend technical meetings and share tabletop exhibits at this hybrid event, which will be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton, Cleveland Rockside, in Independence, Ohio. Last year’s in-person spring meeting was canceled because of the coronavirus.

RDAbbott is launching a new webinar series that will provide technical insights and processing recommendations, feature new products and technologies, and showcase solutions from supplier partners. The first webinar in this free series, “Third-Stream Additives that Modify LSR and HCR,” is scheduled for Tuesday, March 30, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM (PT) and will explain how RDAbbott and NovationSi, with its revolutionary NovaSperse® third-stream modifier technologies, are advancing ways to change the functional properties of cured articles in situ of the liquid injection molding process.

RDAbbott is announcing that Alpha Technologies will host a three-day series of live webinars about rubber testing. The series will begin on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, and includes 12 webinars on a variety of topics. Each webinar will be led by an elastomer industry expert and cost $100 to attend. Participants will gain insights about the rheology behind Alpha Technologies’ instruments and learn how to troubleshoot material and process issues.

Cancarb Limited recently announced the completion and successful commissioning of the sixth unit at its thermal carbon black production facility in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. This expansion brings capacity for its Thermax® brand of thermal carbon black products to 54,000 MT per year.
